Israel Dropping US Made GBU-39s in Gaza
Israel is ushering in the New Year by dropping a deadly payload of US made GBU-39 smart bombs. The smart bomb was designed as a 'small-diameter bomb for low-cost, high-precision and low collateral damage strikes', although the death toll stands at well over 300.
The US is re-solidifying its reputation as an international purveyor of death. The 'blow back' from the recent actions of Israel will in all likelihood be exacted upon US interest in the region and abroad.
With a new administration poised to take the reigns, the US will face serious consequences from the actions of its closest alley. Despite the mirage of hope that cloaks the Obama Presidency, his unrelenting support of Israel will continue to exacerbate tensions in the area and negatively impact US relations in the middle east.

US to Arm Local Afghans
History is once more proving to be cyclical.
Your tax dollars will be used to purchase AK-47s, training, and other material to aid local Afghans in the fight against the Taliban.
'U.S. commanders acknowledge concerns that arming local groups is risky, as it could lead to new armed conflicts between tribes, putting American troops in the middle of unexpected firefights.'
The wheel of violence keeps on turning and Afghanistan will again be infused with a deadly cocktail of arms.

The Dollar Contingency
Scenario: The US dollar loses all intrinsic value due to the collapse of the Federal Reserve.
Probable Solution: Annihilation of the world by the use of tactical nuclear weapons.
Comment: The US has such a devastatingly useless nuclear arsenal patiently waiting for its time to 'shine'. If the US were to collapse, what would keep these phallic bringers of destruction from their sought after objective? Why not wipe the slate of humanity clean and hope enough genetic material remains to reassemble life? If America dies, why should the world live?
As outlandish as it may sound, what would really keep those that control the fate of humanity from systematically applying a 'nuclear scorched earth' policy?
The mere thought sickens me, but I fear that there's more than enough sociopaths with launch codes and a disturbing sense of patriotism.

Forgotten Lessons of Afghanistan
Amid reports that the Department of Defense will bolster troop numbers in Afghanistan by 20,000 to 30,000, one can't help but to reflect on the Soviet incursion of the early 1980's.
During the height of Soviet aggression in Afghanistan there were some 115,000 troops armed with essentially no rules of engagement. Murder of civilians, the use of chemical weapons, torture, and carpet bombings were all throughly utilized by the Soviets. Yet, these tactics could not quash the well funded Mujahideen of Afghanistan.
Now, with the lessons of the early 1980's throughly forgotten in the blind haze of patriotism, the United States will attempt to eliminate the Mujahideen with an ever increasing number of troops and much stricter ROE.
What the fuck is going on? It is astounding that the blundering military is repeating the mistakes of old with no remorse for the beleaguered people of Afghanistan.
Perhaps someday the 'superpowers' of the world will see that injecting more violence into an already saturated victim does nothing more than breed more turmoil and destruction.
I fully expect the situation in Afghanistan to become even more dangerous and costly than Iraq within the next few years.

I mourn for the notion of free thought. Entire civilizations have been predicated upon the death of uninhibited, unmolested thought.
